Model 1917 is mechanically the same as and shares almost all of its parts with the final version of the Model 1907 (including a smaller, thinner cocking lever "hammer"), but with a significantly larger handle. Because this required larger grips, the Model 1917 uses one screw through each grip to hold them to the pistol frame. Vintage American made striker fired semi-automatic compact pistol manufactured circa 1917-1923. Features a blued finish, 4.25" barrel, fixed blade front sight, fixed rear sight, smooth trigger, serrated cocking lever, manual safety/slide catch on the left side of the frame, toe magazine release, 10 round magazine, steel frame and two-piece fancy checkered black synthetic grips with Savage insignias.
