Spanish Colonial swords during the period of sail 1570-1860 would often have variations composed partially in the colonies or New World. This example with particularly large blade of wider form is likely an example of such manufacture.

Mexico, important Mexican generals sword with scabbard, circa 1883-1918. Fantastic custom sword for a general or high ranking officer with a long single edged blade profusely etched with scrolling and decorative patterns including two (WK&C) hall marks and a serial number # 4150. The reverse etched to the ricasso "Armeria Americana Mexico" and flanked by two large panels of scrolling with the Spanish coat of arms between. Very unusual scalloped guard with two downturned quillion all nickel plated. Nickel plated steel scabbard with two belt loops. Lightly dinged. Size 39" L, blade 31 1/4" L

Armeria Americana Mexico (founded 1867) owned and operated by Arsene Combaluzier born in Ardeche, France 1840. Arsene during French Intervention of 1862-1867 had been enlisted with the Castagny Brigade of the French Expeditionary Force in Veracruz. During the conflict Mexican General Porfirio Diaz was captured and taken prisoner under the supervision of Arsene Combaluzier. Having sympathized with General Diaz and the Mexican cause for justice he helped General Diaz escape prison. Altering the course of Mexican History. General Diaz would later become president of Mexico in 1876. As a reward for the actions of Arsene he was granted by President Diaz Mexican Citizenship and the sole exclusive ability to import arms into Mexico.

Important Mexican Revolutionary War (1810-1821) sword by one of the finest swordsmith families Casa Aragon signed by Hermenegildo Aragon, Ejutla de Crespo 1909. Gilt brass eagle head pommel. Snakeskin wrapped grip with gilt twisted wire. Guard with a downturned quillion and pierced openwork with raised loop to one side. Stippled with floral motifs. Slightly curved machete-sword blade with double edged and etched panels. Etched to both sides with scrolling and one side of an eagle fighting a serpent surrounding the inscribed poem "Si Me Picaz No Me Muero, Te Agarre Como Valiente, Con Los Filos De Mi Acero, Nada Nos Queda Pendiente" which translates to " If it stings me, I won't die, I'll grab you like a brave man, with the edges of my steel, nothing is left for us". The reverse etched with the inscription in Spanish "Por Hermenegildo Aragon Y Hermano, Ejutla Junio 9 De 1909" translating to the name of the finest sword maker of the period "Hermenegildo Aragon & Brother based in Ejutla de Crespo June 9th, 1909.

Casa Aragon has been producing fine blades in Mexico since 1750. Their workshop originally based in Ejutla de Crespo started moving to Oaxaca around 1905 making this example from the old workshop extremely rare as one of the last machete sword produced from the original location. Hermenegildo famous for his unique method of tempering steel so well it could be bent into a circle without breaking. Size 34" L, blade 29" L

Koto refers to the old sword period or era from about 900 - 1596. Many of the blades from this period can be described as lighter and more curved / well formed which saw a decline at the beginning of the Shinto period.

Africa, Sahara including parts of Libya, Algeria, Mali, Niger, and Burkina Faso, Tuareg peoples iron lance with double edged spear tip and decorated body. Spear head features intricate incised designs at base including circular marks, hash incising and vertical incised lines running down to the start of the shaft. The shaft features intricate geometric patterns in copper and brass with angular designs. Includes spaced separate bands down the length of the same intricate work. Mid-shaft grip fluted extra handgrip features stacked copper and brass geometric designs which are highly ornate. Extremely rare and beautiful example with high attention to detail. Tuareg culture can be dated back centuries in the Saharan region. They have fiercely maintained their cultural identity and autonomy despite centuries of interaction with external forces, including Arab traders, colonial powers, and modern nation-states.

Solomon Island wood carved club with quadrangular head and cylindrical shaft with disc guard at the neck. Blunt rounded end for bludgeoning. Incised detail to the head would likely either have been requested or commissioned for the new owner of this fine club. Size 22 1/4" L x 4 1/2" W

Iberian Peninsula, Spain, rare Spanish Trabuco military flintlock rifle 18th century. Heavy Iron chiseled lock with massive Frizzen, pan, and hammer in iron. Stuck with a hammers mark to the lock plate reading "LA, SRI, ATE, CVI" under the Spanish crown. Fantastic original finish browned barrel with engraved tang. Octagonal to round with transitional chiseled and gilt band. Flared blunderbuss muzzle 1.5" opening. Inlaid with three gold fleur de lis, the Spanish cross, and silver inlaid series of fleur de lis to the base of the barrel. Two makers marks including a lower example of the rampant lion. Above a hallmark reading "AGN, YTV, RRL, OZ" under the Spanish Crown. Trigger guard frame also hallmarked and gilt "AL, BER, DT" under the crown. Walnut stock in original condition. Excellent working condition. Size 48 1/4" L, barrel 33 1/4" L

Cossacks, as a prominent military and cultural group in Russia, used the Berdan II rifle extensively. The rifle saw action in various conflicts, including the Russo-Turkish War (1877–1878), the Russo-Japanese War (1904–1905), and World War I (1914–1918)

Barrel with engraving to the transition and inscribed in gold - El Gen.l Bassecourt Al Merito De Tercero - above three fleur de Lis, Spanish Cross, and Two hallmarks all heavily gilt. Lower hallmark of a rampant lion, above a makers mark of the crown over letters "GaI, LAA?, Te, SHI??". Silver horizontal inlaid line to base of barrel and flared front sight in silver. Engraving of scrolling to the tang. Spanish miquelet flintlock lock with a touch mark of the crown over "LA,AAI,ATE,GU??". Fine presentation rifle gifted with a promotion to General Bassecourt or by the General for Merit won in battle. Size 40 1/4" L, barrel 24 1/2" L

General Luis Alejandro Bassecourt y Duprie (1769-1826) was a French born Spanish military commander, Governor of Barcelona, and Captain General. He participated in the Peninsular War and was promoted to captain in 1805 after the Dos de Mayo Uprising. In Andalusia he was promoted to brigadier August 1808. He fought alongside the Duke of Albuquerque and participated in the battles of Mora and Consuegra February 1809, Battle of Medellin March 1809, Battle of Talavera July 1809, and in August at the Battle of Arzobispo. Promoted to lieutenant general 1815, lieutenant colonel of the 2d Regiment of Infantry Guards 1819. Ferdinand VII of Spain appointed Bassecourt governor of Barcelona in 1823 and second-in-command of the Captaincy general of Catalonia 1824. The same year he was appointed Captain General of Valencia and Murcia. In 1825 he was promoted to captain general of Granada and captain general of Aragon.

Fantastic silver clad and fine engraved openwork covered rifle with a tiger maple stock and dark walnut or burled wood butt. Scrolling and floral motifs throughout the stock with early inscription engraved over the single panel. Miquelet lock with a heavily silvered surface and engraved with matching designs. Seven solid silver bands over the Damascus steel barrel. Rear temple formed sight to the rear and various silver inlays to the octagonal barrel. Size 54 1/2" L, barrel 40 3/4" L.

As a token of love and esteem, by his Sydney Friends, 26th February 1932, Angus & Coote Ltd Stg. Sil.) . Sterling silver is abbreviated as " STG. SIL ". Size 24 1/2" L. Angus & Coote is currently Australia's leading jewelry, watch, and giftware specialty retailer. The company was formed in Sydney in 1895. The composition of this silver is typically 92.5% pure silver with elements of copper for luster. The plaque is in the shape of Australia and has a vine with leaves above. There are two additional sets of silver attachments including bands to either side which support the boomerang being displayed and two end caps on either end.

Very rare Spanish Lancer helmet circa 1925. Helmet appears all original with a bright polished skull, original glit brass chin strap, original spike, and plaque. Chin strap with lion head hooks. Central crest in a gilt brass with red to the pierced opening of the crown, four lances with flags of Spain with the royal crest, and a central silver highlighted symbol of two flags and crossed swords. Spike undoubtedly original with a monogram to the base. Underside reveals a spectacular condition original green painted interior with felt brims and beautiful folded silk and leather liner. Europe, Italian, Medici Family coat of arms circa 1800s or just after. Fine Italian shield probably for archer or town guard, crafted in an elongated shape with inslit corners to the top for use with weaponry and mobility. The shield retains a red pigment to the exterior probably once red or yellow, the central section one of the many variations of the Medici family crest composed of 6- red orbs over a blue or black background. The reverse is well worn form time and use indicating the shield is at least of the 19th century and yet to be conserved. Size 21 1/2" H x 11 1/2" W

Prior to contact with the Spanish there were no string drawn instruments in Mesoamerica. Primarily only flutes and ocarinas have survived with few intact examples. Depicting Basil of Caesarea, or Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker with a lovely copper halo, holding the gospel in his left hand with right hand slightly raised. He wears robes with crucifix stitched to each shoulder, with lovely floral work throughout. Inscribed reverse. Signed left of the saint and with engraved writing to the lower center. Navy blue and gold detailed Balinese ceremonial umbrella, shortened for use as a parasol with the attachment available to make it tall and stand alone. In the Balinese dialect these umbrellas are known as 'tedung', which literally means 'to guard'. The umbrellas are used in ceremonial parades and positioned around the compounds in alignment to various shrines that are orientated towards the sacred mountain of Gunung Agung. Lid opens to reveal a compartment accessible from the top side. Size 5 3/4" W x 3 1/4" H

Republic Period, Chinese, lovely jade dragon belt hook mounted to a silver bezel holding a circular mirror. Silver frame and reverse are incredibly detailed and decorated throughout. On the reverse of the mirror, a five clawed dragon chases a flaming pearl among waves and swirling clouds. Edge of the frame is painstakingly decorated with individual blooming flowers. Size 8 3/4" H x 4" W

Outlines of incised patterns over a cream colored clay with red pigment. The base with a pattern of geometric triangles at the rim and three sections of separately interconnected bands with curvilinear meanders. Size 10 1/4" H x 7 1/2" W
