Roseville Pottery, Roseville, Ohio, made these ashtrays for the Hyde Park Company from the late 1940s until about 1954, when the pottery closed. The Hyde Park Company sold giftware. The ashtrays have a copper-colored metal disk in the center. The disks were made by DiPierro Manufacturing Co., Inc., of Shrewsbury, Massachusetts.
The round cigar ashtray can hold 4 cigars or cigarettes, measures 8 ¼" across, 2" tall at the sides, and weighs just over 2 pounds. The metal disk measures 2 1/4" across. The disk was often an initial or a critter. Has a crack and some chips that I noticed. Please see photos for details.
