Reproduction of the sculpture of Caesar Augustus of Prima Porta made in molded marble (marble powder with binder). Finished with natural earth patinas. Reproduction of the bronze sculpture representing the emperor Octavian Augustus, exhibited in Zaragoza, in the Cesar Augustus Avenue. Recreation of the sculpture found in Prima Porta, a suburb of Rome, in the villa of Livia. The original, dated from the 1st century A.D., is a marble copy of an earlier bronze model. It is currently on display in the Vatican Museums. The model is clearly inspired by Greek works of classicism such as the Doriphorus of Polyclitus. Caesar Augustus (born Gaius Octavius or Octavian) became the first emperor of Rome, ruling from 27 B.C. to 14 A.D. His rule put an end to the civil wars that ravaged Rome, ushering in a period of peace known as the Pax Romana. Except for a few sporadic wars, the peoples of the Mediterranean basin enjoyed a period of peace and stability for nearly two centuries.

This vintage glass and yellow metal yard/lawn/garden sprayer has fantastic coloring and graphics! Front label is in great condition with color, text and even picture intact. Front label reads in part: ORTHO LAWN SPRAYER, Mfd. for California Chemical Co. Ortho. The Yellow metal top has raised text, some of which reads: Lawn Sprayer Ratio 60-1Hayes Spray Sun Co. Pasadena, Calif. along with what looks like directions for use. Whole thing is just over 8" tall. Yellow metal nozzle part is about 4.75" long. Untested so unsure if it's functional beyond decor but this would make for cool industrial garden decor, man cave decoration, photo prop, etc.
