The Biedenharn Candy Company in Vicksburg, Mississippi, holds a special place in history as the first place where Coca-Cola was ever bottled. In 1894, Joseph A. Biedenharn, a candy store owner, began bottling Coca-Cola so it could be shipped to rural areas. The original bottles used were Hutchinson blob-top bottles, which were sealed with a rubber disk held in place by a wire. These bottles were embossed with "Biedenharn Candy Company, Vicksburg, Miss.". However, these bottles were only used for a short time because the rubber seal affected the drink’s flavor. Coca-Cola began using crown top bottles in the early 1890s. The crown cap, invented by William Painter, was patented in 1892 and quickly became the standard for soda bottles, including Coca-Cola. This innovation helped improve the sealing and preservation of carbonated beverages, making it a significant milestone in the history of soda packaging. Excellent condition with no restoration.
