Description Czechoslovakian PNV-57 Tank Driver Night Vision Googles. The PNV-57 is a family of night vision binoculars originally developed and produced in the Soviet Union, but later variants also developed and produced in Czechoslovakia and Poland. The PNV-57 is considered a "zero" generation device. In the kit for this device, there were always covers for round headlights of cars, which were made uniform and identical for all Soviet vehicles, including civilian ones, so that you could quickly put on the covers, wear the PNV on your head, and drive unnoticed in the darkness. These were the standards of the Soviet Union aimed at a future major war. The design has several variants, either using Gen. 0 or Gen. 1 image intensifier tubes. They use an external power supply, with a high voltage cable connecting the supply to the binoculars. Most variants then require an external power source to be connected to this power supply. Originally these units are mounted to a tanker cap style helmet with the power supply worn on the back of the cap. Kit includes everything except for light bulbs. All paperwork and documents included are written in Czech.
Condition: Fair with scratches, canvas broken on the hand grip, untested functionality, kit is missing the original lightbulbs for vehicles, some storage and handling wear. Case and has scratches, small spots of oxidation.
