Beringer Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 1990
Napa Valley, Cabernet Sauvignon
750 ml / USA / 13.4% ABV
RP 92 | VN 94 | WS 94
"Unlike more recent offerings, the 1990 came from three Napa Valley parcels, the Chabot Vineyard on the east side of Napa, Beringer’s Home Vineyard in St. Helena and the Bancroft Vineyard on Howell Mountain. 1990 experienced one of Napa Valley’s most exceptional growing seasons with a later than usual bud break, and a hot May, which served as a catalyst for early flowering and a large crop set. After some disquieting light rain in late August, dry, warm weather returned in September and October, resulting in ideal conditions for the harvest. The 1990 is fully mature, but it appears to have another decade of aging left. It exhibits terrific fruit intensity with lots of plum sauce, black currants, roasted meats, cedar and cassis. Full-bodied and quite mature (it reveals some lightening at the edge), it is in no danger of drying out or declining." June 2011 - Wine Advocate
Beringer Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 1992
Napa Valley, Cabernet Sauvignon
750 ml / USA / 14.1% ABV
RP 92 | VN 91
"Although totally dry, it reveals a sweeter style with higher alcohol and glycerin and an impression of unctuosity and viscosity. While it does not exhibit the complexity of either the 1990 or 1991, it possesses a dense purple color along with a sexy, up-front, effusive, flamboyant style." June 2011 - Wine Advocate
Beringer Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 1993
Napa Valley, Cabernet Sauvignon
750 ml / USA / 14.1% ABV
CG 92 | WA 93
“A more mineral-dominated wine, the 1993 Private Reserve offers notes of cedarwood, black cherries, black currants, damp earth, underbrush and forest floor. It is the product of a lower than normal crop, some shatter during berry set and a general reduction of fruit by nearly 30% in some vineyards. August and September alternated between cool periods and large heat spikes.”

Beringer Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 1994
Napa Valley, Cabernet Sauvignon
750 ml / USA / 13.3% ABV
VN 91 | WA 97 | WS 91
“A stunning, seamless Cabernet Sauvignon, it boasts abundant notes of white chocolate, creme de cassis, woodsmoke, spice box, licorice and forest floor, superb concentration, a full-bodied mouthfeel, sweet, integrated tannin and admirable youthfulness as well as freshness. This is one of the most Bordeaux-like wines in this vertical, with the lead pencil shavings and scorched earth characteristics pointing toward a Graves style.”

Beringer Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 1995
Napa Valley, Cabernet Sauvignon
750 ml / USA / 13.9% ABV
RP 96 | WE 95 | WS 92 | VN 93
“Made from Bancroft Ranch (34%), Tre Colline (36%), Chabot (19%) and the rest from the St. Helena Home Vineyard, the 1995 is not as complex as the 1994, but it is loaded with fruit. Still an adolescent in its development, it possesses a dense purple color along with a big, sweet bouquet of blackberries and cassis, a youthful mouthfeel, good acidity, full body, abundant fruit and glycerin and a long, heady finish. This vintage was somewhat forgotten because of all the hype surrounding 1994, but it has turned out to be a great one for Bordeaux varietals in Napa. This stunning Private Reserve should continue to drink well for another 15 or more years.”
