Ewald Rentz, 1905-1995, born in North Dakota but migrated to Canada working in many fields first in Manitoba later in Beardmore Ontario. This major work is a very large whimsical blue bird standing erectly on stick legs made of soft wood boards and a found branch, very good condition with vibrant blue and black colours, minor age split underneath, Big Blue stands on a cut pine timber base. Base 10"W x 14"H x 10"D. Big Blue 40"L x 43"H x 7.5"D. Overall 57"L x 57"H.

A very vibrantly painted dovetailed dome top box in original vinegar paint design with green painted border, poplar, possibly one of the best original condition boxes with excellent surface, vibrant colour, intact and tight snipe hinges, original clasp and lock, tiny hairline crack at front left of dome lid, clean interior, New England, c1830-50.

A vibrantly coloured clown with open mouth for bean bag toss, called "POP-EM-IN-U-WIN", colourfully painted plywood mounted on a folding metal base, the clown was hand painted by the artist "Cato", strong colours, very good used condition, can be wall-mounted or free standing. A well carved black duck carved by Mr. Deb Mayhon, Caledonia c1960 copying very closely a Ken Anger decoy, glass eyes, very good first paint, only a few minor shot holes, 16.5"L.
