64" x 60" Dennis Downey ( b.1941-) is important Western American artist, has painted for 25+ years and is one of Santa Fe's best known painters. Several of his works have been sold at major auction houses, including CHRISTIES. His influences include Wilson Hurley who focuses on depth perception encompassing the vast large picture of Southwest landscapes, and Eric Sloan of the National Academy who focuses on the big sky and cloud formations in his work. Dennis uses the phrase "cloudscapes" as a way of differentiating his part realistic, part fantasy paintings from more traditional realism. We will assist with shipping but it is the buyers responsibility to arrange the shipper.
2 JOHN AXTON ACRYLIC PAINTING TITLED "SIOUX VISION"
36" X 36" SIGHT DATED 1980 - HAS SMALL SCRATCHES John Axton ( 1947 - ) is known for Minimal landscape views, still life and figure painting. Major influences and haunting imagery on this artist are growing up in southern Illinois, the death of his father in the Korean War before he got to know him, and the blindness of his brother. In 1967, he graduated from Southern Illinois University's commercial art program and worked for an engraving firm in Denver. In 1979, he moved to New Mexico. Inspired by the landscape and Indians he saw in Taos, he became a full-time painter. In the mid-1990s, he lived briefly in New York City and Livingston, Montana, but returned to New Mexico where he located a studio behind his former wife's art gallery in Santa Fe.

5 LISTED CALIFORNIA ARTIST ANTHONY QUARTUCCIO
DATED 1968 TITLE "CALIFORNIA COAST" 37.75" X 23.25" FRAMED A nice original oil painting done by well listed California artist Anthony Quartuccio (1922-2011). He was born in Monreale Sicily and migrated to California's Santa Clara Valley in 1936 and in the late 1980s retired to Paso Robles, California. He had a small gallery in San Jose for a time.
