Bronze throned Buddha on base with four separate figures representing the king, the queen, and two guards, believed to be Burmese and possibly from a temple alter. Purchased in the late 1990s in northern Thailand. 9-1/2" L x 9-1/2" W x 20" H. CONDITION: The halo behind the Buddha is not attached as originally intended and will not stay in place without additional support, attempts have been made to add extra material to both the base and the halo to rectify this. There is corrosion on the bottom of the base possibly indicating an iron support structure under the bronze. One internal foot is missing on one section of the base. The bases on the four separate figures are a later addition and not original.

Wood rod (Jikugi) on bottom with bone end caps (Jiku). Image measures approximately 46-1/2" L x 20-1/8" W while the entire scroll measures approximately 73" L x 20-1/8" W. CONDITION: Areas of creasing, bubbling, staining, discoloration, and possible fading to the image (Honshi). Creasing, tearing, and areas of loss to the sections immediately above (Chu-Jo) and below (Ge) the image. The top section (Jo) of the scroll, along with the top Rod (Hyomoku), appear to be missing. Efforts have been made to stabilize the Chu-Jo from the back side using what appears to be archival linen tape.

Ancient Near East, Holy Land, ca. 1st millennium BCE; Ancient Greece, Cyprus, ca. 800 BCE. A set of 4 hand-built pottery vessels, 2 originating in Cyprus and 2 originating in the ancient Holy Land. Both Holy Land vessels have a round but stable base, a wide mouth, and an attached handle. The Cypriot vessels have twin handles similar to pilgrim flasks but spherical bodies like drinking vessels. Size of largest (Cypriot vessel): 5" wide x 7" tall. An extremely large Holy Land red burnished ware bowl, featuring a narrow concave pedestal base, from which the bowl’s body widens to its high shoulders. The shape of the bowl is irregular due to it being hand-worked: at this time the pottery wheel had not yet become ubiquitous and was not widely used. Equally spaced around the shoulders are four thumb-indented ledge handles for holding and decoration. Holy Land pottery production of this period is characterized by red burnished and grey burnished wares, which were rarely painted. Circa 3rd -1st Millennium BCE. Approximately 16-1/2" in diameter x 8" in height. Provenance: ex-private East Lansing, Michigan, USA collection; Ancient Art, The Gallery, London, UK, 3/2021.

Three Halcyon Days faux jeweled or encrusted enamel trinket or snuff boxes, two based on boxes that had been made for King Frederick the Great of Prussia (Germany) and which are now part of the Gilbert Collection at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. The third box was inspired by Georgian brooch. Two of the boxes retain their original velvet lined boxes and paperwork. The largest box is approximately 2-1/4" L x 2-3/4" W x 1-1/2" H.
