A vintage circa 1960s tin litho toy Pirate Chest produced by Wolverine Toy Co. Item measures roughly 25 1/2" x 18" x 18 1/2" for size reference. Includes instructions, key, and lock (which has been previously broken). Overall, piece is in nice shape with various signs of storage and play wear such as areas of dust accumulation, paint wear, portions of oxidation, surface abrasions, and general edge/corner wear. This lot consists of about 200 metal figurines. Most of them appear to represent military personnel in the World War I and World War II eras. A few have hand written labelling on the bottoms of the figure giving years, type/rank of soldier and sometimes even a specific name that the figures are meant to represent. This lot originates from a lifelong dedicated collector that appeared to have a profound interest in military history. Unless indicated otherwise, this collection may include items from various toy manufacturers known for producing metal soldiers, such as Britains, Kilia, Elastolin, R.G. Bussler, Valiants, Ambrite, Barclay, Crescent, Marx, AHI, Hinchcliffe, Imrie Risley, Squadron/Rubin, Old Guard, Cavalier, among others. Most figures are in the standard 1/32 (54 mm) scale, although variations may exist depending on the manufacturer. Figures appear to be in various stages of painting. This hard to find set comprises of a gilt coach with blue panels, seated Queen and Duke of Edinburgh, 8 Windsor Grey horses with 4 riders, "H" type traces still in bag, and direction sheet. Figures appear to be in nice shape. The box is good shape with some typical wear and corner tearing. Condition as pictured.
