Preview any items before you bid.Ask questions or request additional photos if needed. Payment Terms: Payment Methods:Credit Cards: Your registered credit card will be charged after the auction ends (typically Saturday evening or Sunday morning). NOTE:Cash, NYS Check, Certified Check, or Wire Transfer: These methods are accepted, but you must request to pay this way by 4:00 PM on Friday before the auction ends. Buyer’s Premium: A 13% buyer’s premium will be added to your winning bid, regardless of payment type. Sales Tax: NYS Buyers: A 7.5% New York State sales tax will be applied.If you are tax-exempt, please submit your resale certificate prior to the auction closing. Once your payment is processed, we cannot refund sales tax. Invoices: Invoices will be emailed to winning bidders by Sunday afternoon. If you do not receive your invoice, please check your SPAM folder. Firearm & Ammo Purchases - New Regulations: NYS Firearm Background Check: Effective September 13, 2023, a background check is required for all firearm, rifle, shotgun, muzzle loaders, and ammunition purchases in New York State.$9.00 fee per firearm transaction $2.50 fee per ammunition transaction. Total fee for a firearm and ammunition on the same invoice will be $11.50. NYS NICS Fee:These fees will be added as a line item to your invoice and charged when we run your credit card. Out-of-state buyers picking up firearms or ammo must pay these fees in cash. Shipping Ammunition (NYS Buyers): Ammunition can be shipped only to an FFL. Out-of-state buyers: Ammunition will be shipped via UPS (due to USPS restrictions), and there will be a $5.00 handling fee per package. Pickup Information:Pickup Dates & Times:Please adhere to the following schedule for item pickup: THE WEEK FOLLOWING AUCTION CLOSING Monday: 9:30 AM - 5:00 PM; Tuesday: 12:00 PM - 7:00 PM; Wednesday: 9:30 AM - 5:00 PM Note: Our office is closed on Thursdays and Sundays. Firearm Purchases:Firearm purchases require an appointment. A link to schedule an appointment will be sent with your invoice.If you live in a county that requires special paperwork (e.g., Monroe County), you must request the required pistol paperwork by email at least 24 hours before your appointment. Important Notes for Firearm Buyers:Firearms must be picked up by the registered purchaser (no third-party pickups).If purchasing a handgun, contact your county for instructions on adding it to your pistol permit. Monroe County Buyers: Extra paperwork is required. Email your request at least 24 hours in advance to ensure we can assist you. Ammo & Accessories:Ammo and accessories can be picked up during scheduled pickup times without an appointment. Loading Items:Bring assistance if you are purchasing large or heavy items such as generators, gun safes, or other bulky items.Special equipment may be necessary for safe handling (e.g., for gun safes). Shipping Information: Shipping Options:After the auction ends, you will be contacted via Shipping Saint to choose between "Shipping" or "Pickup".Once your items are in the shipping area, you will receive an update with the cost of shipping and tracking information.All shipping costs are the responsibility of the buyer. Handling Fees: Each package will have a $5 to $10 handling fee depending on size. USPS Priority Mail boxes incur a $5 flat handling fee. Shipping Process:Please allow up to 2 weeks for shipping. We have a small staff but will make every effort to ship items promptly. Firearm shipments will begin on Thursday following the auction.We do not ship internationally (except to Canada), and we cannot ship primers, powder, or mounts. Firearm Shipping: FFL Requirements: For firearm shipping, please have your FFL email us a copy of their license along with the buyers name. If you are a C&R license holder, please provide your C&R license.A $10 handling fee will be applied to each firearm shipment. All shipping costs, including postage and insurance, are the buyer’s responsibility. Ammunition Shipping:NYS residents: Ammunition must be shipped to an FFL.For out-of-state buyers, we will follow federal shipping regulations, and ammunition will be shipped via UPS.A $5 handling fee will apply per ammunition shipment. Important Legal Information: NYS Background Check (NY NICS):All firearm purchases require a NY NICS background check unless the buyer has a Federal Firearms License (FFL).Handguns require a NYS Pistol Permit (unless the buyer has a Federal Firearms License).Some firearms may not be NYS compliant. Please read item descriptions carefully before bidding. SEMI AUTO RIFLE PERMITS ARE REQUIRED for NYS Semi Auto Rifle purchases. Additional Notes:No Returns: All items are sold as-is, with no returns accepted. Please review descriptions and ask questions before bidding. 1c ATTENTION NYS SEMI AUTO RIFLE BUYERS
NYS buyers of Semi-Auto Rifles MUST have a NYS Semi-Auto Rifle License. This is your responsibility as a buyer and NYS resident, if you purchase a semi-auto rifle without a license you will NOT be issued a refund. You can re-consign the rifle to be sold at a future auction. More information can be found in our auction Terms and Conditions.
1e PICK UP/ SHIPPING:
PICK UP DAYS: Scheduled Pick Up Times for Week following auction: Monday: 9:30 AM - 5:00 PM; Tuesday: 12:00PM- 7:00PM ; Wednesday: 9:30 AM - 5:00 PM and Fri. 930-5:00 pm Please note: There will be NO CONSIGNMENTS accepted on pick-up days. You are responsible for adhering to the scheduled pick-up times as outlined in the Terms and Conditions. We cannot hold items past the pick-up dates. Important Notes: Firearm & Ammunition Purchases: These require an appointment. A link to schedule your appointment will be sent with your invoice after the auction concludes. Accessories: These can be picked up anytime during the scheduled pick-up hours, no appointment necessary. For further pick-up information, please refer to the email sent after the auction closes. SHIPPING INFORMATION: After the auction, you will receive a link from Shipping Saint and Hessney Auction Co. via email and/or text. You will be asked to select either "Shipping" or "Pick Up". Shipping Process: If you select shipping, our staff will gather your items and move them to the shipping area. You will receive a second notification once your items are packed. A third notification will provide you with the shipping cost, along with a tracking number. You will be asked to pay for the shipping label at that time. Once payment is received, we will print the shipping label and send out your package. Please note: Shipping can take 1-2 weeks to complete, as we process hundreds of packages each week with a small staff. Your patience is appreciated! IMPORTANT SHIPPING NOTES: All shipping costs are the responsibility of the buyer. We do not ship primers, powder, mounts, or other large or restricted items. If you are unsure whether an item can be shipped, please contact us before bidding. Items deemed too large or fragile for in-house shipping may be taken to the UPS Store for shipment at the buyer's expense. Please do not contact the office about shipping unless it has been more than 7 business days since you’ve received your shipping notification.

NYS Buyers are all subject to NYS NICS CHECK with include a fee per transaction: $9.00 for firearms (includes muzzle loaders) $2.50 for Ammunition if you purchase both: $11.50 will be added to your invoice. *NOTE this is per invoice, not per item. 1g Important Buyer Notification:
Please note: Invoices from Hessney Auction will be emailed to buyers by Sunday afternoon. With over 2,000 lots in this auction, it is expected to run late into the evening, likely closing after 10:00 PM. Due to the size of the auction, our team will need additional time to download the auction data, review each buyer, and apply any applicable NYS charges. After the auction closes on Saturday evening, you will receive a notification from Shipping Saint. This will prompt you to select whether you prefer shipping or pickup for your items.
