Online Only Auction
This online only auction will begin to close on Sunday, November 3rd at 7:00PM.
updated information: The collection was inheirted in 2009 and stored with clocks hanging on walls in climate controlled room without pendulums and weights. At that time the condition of the time pieces were believed to be in working order. When we attached pedulums and weights the clocks had movement to them but since they had not been cleaned or serviced we choose to let the new owners have the time pieces serviced instead of risking any damage we might cause by winding time pieces. Lots 42 through 58 have been serviced and are in working order also the chronometers have been serviced. Lots without pictures of movements we were not able to open backs to take pictures, sorry we did not want to cause any damage to time pieces. Ladies and gentlemen, we have a special story behind today's auction. Mr. Stubblefield thought he had hit the jackpot when he inherited a truly stunning collection of clocks, chronometers, pocket watches, and alarm clocks from his father-in-law. His father-in-law, Mac Reeves started what was once just a hobby, which grew into a second career. Through Mac and Allean Reeves many connections in the Chattanooga-Hixson area they were able to curate the collection before you and it is truly remarkable, with several pieces dating back to the 1800s! Among them, you'll find iconic names like Hamilton, Illinois, Ball, and Seth Thomas, as well as renowned European makers such as French Mobier and the German master Gustav Becker. Mr. Stubblefield and wife Dalpha had dreams for the collection. Mr. Stubbblefield had dreams for himself of becoming a clockmaker and repairman, just like his father-in-law. When they built their retirement home, they even designed a climate-controlled room, especially to house and preserve this extraordinary collection. But as happens to so many of us, life had other plans, and retirement took a different turn. Unfortunately, he hasn't had the time to invest in the collection as he had hoped. Though it was a bittersweet decision, Mr. Stubblefield came to the conclusion that this cherished collection deserves new owners-people who will love and appreciate these antique and vintage timepieces as much as he and his father-in-law did. So, whether you're an avid collector or simply an admirer of fine craftsmanship, we invite you to browse this auction and admire the beauty of these timepieces. Thank you for joining us, and happy bidding from Danny, Will, and Jolene!
