Don Greytak, pencil artist
Don Greytak is a noted Montana pencil artist who has worked exclusively in pencil since 1978. He has produced over 300 signed limited edition prints. His work depicts many typical farm and ranch situations that are considered part of the everyday life in the West.
Don draws from his own personal back-ground and experiences of the rural community. Don has a varied background as a rancher, pilot, stock and horse trailer builder, and metal sculptor.
The story and detailing of his work comes only from an intimate knowledge of rural life style. He feels that it is not his drawing that is his strong suit, but the fact that he knows his subject and has a story to tell and an emotion to convey.
Back In Time Frames
This barwood-and-oak frame is carefully hand crafted to produce a quality piece. We gather barwood from old homesteads in the high plains of Montana. Through a labor-intensive process, each strip is hand selected and prepared together with new oak, individually sanded and sealed to produce a unique piece. Because of the nature of barnwood, no two pieces are exactly alike
