The conflict Americans refer to as the Vietnam War had one superficial similarity to the Korean War a decade and a half prior: the North of the divided country (Indochina, in this case) received aid and backing from the Communist powers (the Soviet Union and China) whereas the South's backers were Western powers, initially France and later the United States. Half a century later, there are many military remnants of the war up for auction online. Vintage collector's items include artifacts used by North Vietnamese, Vietcong, South Vietnamese, French, and American forces.
