Online auctions of everyday clocks from recent decades are available in this category. (You’ll find vintage units on auction at HiBid.com’s Antique Clocks page.) Here you’ll find electric, battery-powered, and windup clocks, analog and digital clocks and clock radios, and occasionally retro-style flip clocks. There are hanging wall clocks in regulator, sunburst, and banjo styles, as well as clocks that play the Westminster chimes or other tunes on the hour. Weather set clocks often come with barometers, hygrometers, and/or thermometers. Modern floor-standing types include grandfather clocks and shorter grandmother clocks. (If you’re looking for either of these elegant beauties, you may want to browse HiBid’s Antique Clocks page, as auctioneers often list them there, too.) Smaller freestanding clocks include desk clocks, mantel clocks, cathedral and camelback style clocks, glass dome clocks, and anniversary clocks with slow torsion pendulums. On the lighter side are cuckoo clocks of Black Forest, German, Austrian, or Swiss origin, as well as Mickey Mouse clocks, Kit-Cat Klocks, and neon diner clocks. Bar clocks with advertisements for cigarettes, soda pop, and beer are especially popular for collectors. Clock brands include Ashley, Crosa Clocks, Howard Miller, New Haven, Omega, Seiko, Seth Thomas, Waterbury, Westclox, and many more.
