Kurt Schwitters (1887 - 1948) was a German artist and leader of the Dada movement who is best known for his collages, which he called "merz". His collages were made from found materials and trash, and often incorporated text and imagery from print media. Schwitters' collages are known for their dynamic compositions and for reflecting the state of German culture in the early 20th century.
Provenance: From the private estate of a long time art collector. According to the consignor this fine painting has not undergone an expert authentication certification process hence is being sold as manner of the artist.
