AS PROVIDED BY VENDOR *
NAME: Lord Roddy (Jett)
BREED: Thoroughbred
SEX: Gelding
HEIGHT: 16.2hh(Not measured)
AGE: 13
Jett is looking for a new home due to no fault of his own, with work commitments and being a single mum I just simply don't have the time for him that he deserves.
Jett is being sold as a companion/lawn mower, however, he can be ridden but has been out of work for over a year.
He has reared once in the whole nearly 5 (I think) years that I've owned him and has never bucked, kicked or bolted. He occasionally has some slight inconsistent lameness in the front end which have been xrayed and came back as clear (can provide on request), however I just don't have the money to investigate further, farrier at the vet clinic when I got X-rays done noticed that his feet were trimmed unevenly, so was more than likely just from his old shoeing by previous farrier if I'm completely honest. I just pulled his shoes off and turned him out ever since so don't know for sure.
He is great to catch, trim, shoe, tie, gear up, wash & worm, travels perfectly however can sometimes take a little convincing to load. In saying that, it's never taken me more than 10 minutes to get him on.
He hates clippers & fart/raspberry noises ???????
He can be paddocked alone or with others but he can sometimes be "choosy" of his paddock mates and has been aggressive to others in the past. Most of the time he is fine (currently paddocked with 4 other horses) but something to keep in mind when putting him in with others.
Currently just living off of around bale so is a pretty easy keeper.
Good with fencing as long as it's good fencing, doesn't respect temp electric fencing unless he's got bulk food to keep him occupied.
Is overdue for a trim but if I can organise a farrier before he sells I will get him trimmed before he goes.
Up to date with worming and would be due to see the dentist about now.
Loves to jump, isn't a huge fan of trail riding but he will go out with others, is scared of kangaroos.
Good with cars, motorbikes & dogs.
Pick up location: Scarsdale VIC
