Ginger Spice
She is such a loving horse to have around. Always happy to have attention on her. She loves a bath or brush, loves calling out when she sees you coming to the paddock. Will stand opposite the kitchen window to watch dinner being made ??.
She is great to catch, float and good to have her feet trimmed (had power tools used to trim them when we got her due to her feet being extremely overdue). She is now on a 6wk schedule. She isn't great to worm however she adores food and will happily eat it if mixed in with her dinner. Currently up to date with feet, vaccination and worming.
She's good to paddock and ride alone or with other horses. She was bottom of the herd with our other 2 mares.
Her history with us:
We purchased her in 2022 as a 12yr old however the dentist suspects she may have been a few years older.
She was in poor condition when we got her. Feet were terrible and extremely underweight (vet didn't actually think she was pregnant). It appears she has some scarring in her near side eye however, this does not seem to bother her. Due to having a white face, I keep a fly mask on her most of the year.
She was in foal to a clydie x and produced a lovely big colt in Dec 2022 (pics of him included). She was a great mum. Very patient and loved having us in the paddock to play around with the foal too. Would make a great broodmare.
Riding:
I have taken her out to lessons and trail riding and popped over a few small jumps on her. She has never hesitated at a jump but I feel trail riding will be her passion. She is happy to go it alone on the roads around home and have taken her up to a mountain with my dad's horse and she went brilliantly (videos are from her first trail ride up the mount). She seems to get bored in an arena but loves just plodding along on a loose rein. You can go from a medium canter back to a walk on a loose rein with no trouble. Definitely more woah than go. Will not use more energy than required. Due to her being so lazy and occasionally stubborn, I feel she would be best suited to an experienced rider to really get the most out of her. She is a pull out the paddock and saddle up type of horse. Only lunged her when I first put the saddle on and have never had a need to since then. She would continue to improve with more frequent work (currently being ridden about once a month).
She comes with a halter, saddle blanket, 1x cotton, 2x fleece and 1x winter rug.
