Leading the way in High Mid Century Modern Style is the Basset Brasilia Walnut Dining Room Cabinet. From the most valuable Bassett Collection in over 100 years of furniture making, this collection was designed to replicate the ultra modern style of the capitol city of Brasilia, Brazil. There are other more traditional mid century pieces for the dining room in this auction including Table & Chairs, China Cabinet, and a Flip Top Server Cabinet that is certainly worth a look. Those cabinets are widely repurposed today to serve as Coffee Bars. While the furniture makes a strong presence in this auction, the collections in this estate represent: famous makers like Wedgwood, Limoges, Fenton, & Roseville; global travel; and nostalgic collections that were popular in the Mid 20th Century. FENTON has a lot with 4 Carnival Glass Pieces in this auction that is so iridescent, it’s known as Electric. They also have a few pieces that were hand painted and signed by the artist. WEDGWOOD has a couple of Jasperware Pieces and a Vintage China Set in the Petersham Pattern. French Limoges, Tiffany & Co., and Roseville USA Pottery are other famous makers making an appearance in this estate. Mid Century Collectors, or Children of Mid Century Collectors will appreciate the Souvenir Spoon Collection, many of which are Sterling Silver. Eggs on Stands, Paperweights, Trinket Boxes, and a Very Extensive Bell Collection come here from around the world and mostly from famous makers that are highly collectable. Miniature Decor & Displays are here en masse. Figurines abound in this estate, but none are more present than the turtles that march around the gardens and home in the form of Brass, Glass, Concrete & Stone. These collectors loved Germany and there are Posters, Plates, Steins, and other souvenir collectables to prove it was a favorite destination. One more Early to Mid 20th Century Collection worth a mention is the Nancy Ann Storybook Doll Collection from the 1940’s and 50’s. The most widely available doll to buy in the 1950’s, you just don’t see them much today. There are 44 of these dolls in this estate and many of them are in elaborate dress. Nostalgia will follow you as you step back in time to the Mid Century and before to view this Collector’s Estate. So whether you are bidding on your next high-value collectable or a blast from your past, LOA would like to wish you good luck & good fortune with your bids. Thank you for stopping by to take a look and, if you do not opt for our nationwide shipping or local delivery, we look forward to seeing you in SW Fort Worth to pick up your new furniture & collectibles.
