Lead Mallard Hen - John Blair Sr.
Description
John Blair Sr. (1843-1929) Philadelphia, PA c.1900 16" long Since Bill Mackey acquired this decoy some 60+ years ago, much has been learned about the decoys of the Philadelphia School. At the time this was considered to be a decoy from the Blair family, and is so written in the restoration notes on the underside that date back to the early 1970's. However today it is very likely simply a Philadelphia School decoy that took notes from noted carvers John Blair Sr. and A.B. Vance (1818-1889). The solid body decoy bears a blurred ink "Mackey" collection stamp on the underside. The restoration note says the restoration was completed in 1974 by Bob (illegible). Terms: 20% Buyers Premium with Cash and Check. If you use a Credit or Debit card a 5% charge will be aded to the Buyer's Premium to total 25%. Payment Terms
We will accept all major credit cards, cash, and good check made out to American Sporting Auctions. If you wish to pay with check please arrange ahead of time by contacting Mike Martin at 315-576-6058 or AmericanSportingAuctions@gmail.com. If check isn't received within 2 weeks of the sale, we will process your card on file. Please note there is a 5% service fee added onto all Credit or Debit card payments to bring the total buyers premium to 25%.
Convenient In-house shipping is provided at the buyers expense. Shipping is charged with the initial bill. Upon successful payment of your entire bill we will provide you with tracking and ship out your lot. Shipping is done on a first come first serve basis and may take up to 3 weeks to ship. Your shipping bill will include our cost of postage, labor, materials, and insurance. If you have your own insurance or wish to ship your lots uninsured, we require you to let us know in writing immediately on the close of the auction. We also offer pick up (free) and delivery to shows ($10 per lot), please arrange these requests prior to the auction as we may or may not be able to accommodate your request. Under no circumstances will we be liable for damage to glass or frames, or fragile decoratives, regardless of cause.
