NAME: Lytel Haefen Katikorn (Kitty)
BREED: Welsh Cob
SEX: Filly
HEIGHT: 14hh(Not measured)
AGE: 2
DOB 28/08/2022.
Kitty is 2 years old, she's a sweet and gentle girl, but shy and sensitive with strangers. Kitty is a Welsh cob with a Welsh D sire (Andelain Tobias) and Welsh C dam (Cataraqui Pumpkin). She's registered P with WCPS due her sire not having the correct registration and his owner not providing a service certificate. This can't be changed or upgraded due to WPCS rules, so despite being purebred Welsh she will only ever be listed as a partbred mare.
She was extensively handled in her first year of life, taught to halter, lead, tie up, stand to bathe and groom, float load both on and off easily, etc. She comes when called and loves Huds and Toke veggie bix treats, which I use for training. She's usually calm and well behaved for our regular farrier. She has always been easy to vax and worm and she's willing and cooperative with people she knows and trusts. However she has always embarrassed me with other people, by acting like she's never been caught in her life whenever there's a stranger nearby. Our farrier took 6 months maternity leave and we used a couple of different farriers in that time, Kitty was ok for the first one (I caught her prior to arrival), but the second one was one of those farriers that's always in a hurry, rushes through, snatches at the hair near her feet and throws his tools on the ground, Kitty wasn't impressed and when he threw his rasp she noped out. So she waited for our usual farrier to return on August 23rd to get done and acted like she'd never met her before and didn't end up getting done then either. She was wormed at the start of this month, she and Bandit both still look a bit "hippy" though, so I'll do a follow up with them both. Her last Vax was done in January with Equivac 2 in one. her feet are not currently up to date, but don't look bad.
The ponies have all been out in the paddock with minimal handling over autumn and winter, so they look messy, shaggy, etc. Kitty was recently brought in when I discovered her mother was about to foal down and I had to put an 8 month old colt out of the smaller yard to give that yard to her. Kitty was put in with her mother to keep the colt away from her. She has been good and respectful with the new foal that was born on the 7th, but a little skittish when I go out because her mother keeps hunting her away in case I bring food.
Kitty has the potential to be a great horse for someone who is patient and willing to bond with her. She requires a more experienced owner than I am to bring her along to meet that potential. She's for sale through no fault of her own, I simply have too many ponies and don't have the financial or physical requirements to continue meeting their needs, especially the extra needs of younger ponies.
Kitty has no known scars.
