Description
First American Edition "The Greatest Work in the History of Science. Previously the copyright date of "1846" was mistaken as a printing date. Bernard Cohen wrote an extensive paper identifying the order of issues for this work. A copy of which accompanies this book which has been identified as First Edition, First Printing with the date 1848 on the title page and the address 107 Fulton Street. Mild foxing throughout, there is a damp stain on the back endpaper and fly leaf and does not extend to the printed work. The book is missing the back-strip, and I felt it was prudent to let the buyer have it re-bound to their choice. A very scarce volume.
