The conflict Americans refer to as the Vietnam War had one superficial similarity to the Korean War a decade and a half prior: the North of the divided country (Indochina, in this case) received aid and backing from the Communist powers (the Soviet Union and China) whereas the South's backers were Western powers, initially France and later the United States. Half a century later, there are many military remnants of the war up for auction online. Vintage collector's items include artifacts used by North Vietnamese, Vietcong, South Vietnamese, French, and American forces. You might also encounter rucksacks, olive drab and “tiger stripe” camouflage fatigues, caps, boonie hats, bayonets and scabbards, “subdued” patches with no bright colors, flechettes, chest rig ammo pouches, propaganda leaflets, P38 can openers, field dressing bandages, ponchos, helmet chinstraps, photos, folding shovels, canteens and covers, camo face paint sticks, rifle slings, and more. Sellers post new items for sale from time to time on HiBid.com, so if you don't spot what you're looking for, try back again later.
