This need for self-expression resurfaced in 2020 during the first COVID-19 lockdown. At that time, he was one of the few people allowed to travel to continue his work as a caregiver. The atmosphere was unprecedented, time seemed to stand still, and society underwent a profound relational shift: locked in their homes, some people lived in fear, confusion, or anger, while others saw this period as an opportunity to refocus on themselves and their loved ones. During this time, he rediscovered the joy of drawing, creating, and expressing himself at an intense pace. Confinement became a metaphor for a broader concept of emotional confinement and a means of expressing emotions. It was during this period that his character, the Ganouche, came to life in a unique and highly recognizable style.
